DDATS Ltd – Modern Slavery Statement (2024)

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking. DDATS Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. This statement outlines the steps we have taken and continue to take to prevent modern slavery in our business and supply chains.

1. Organisation structure and supply chains

DDATS Ltd is a UK-based SME delivering digital, data, AI, technology and security services to public sector organisations. Our work involves both in-house engineering and collaboration with a small number of specialist third-party partners.

Our supply chain primarily consists of:

  • Technology and cloud service providers (e.g. AWS, Azure)

  • Independent consultants and subcontractors

  • Professional service suppliers (legal, HR, training)

  • SaaS vendors and office infrastructure providers

We operate solely within the United Kingdom and do not engage in manufacturing, logistics or overseas procurement.

2. Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

We are committed to ensuring modern slavery does not occur in any part of our business or supply chain. Our approach includes:

  • A formal Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy, which applies to all employees and contractors

  • A Supplier Code of Conduct, which requires all suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act

  • Employment policies that ensure fair recruitment, pay, working conditions and whistleblowing channels

We expect the same high standards from our suppliers and partners and require them to apply equivalent standards throughout their own supply chains.

3. Due diligence processes

To identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery, we:

  • Include anti-slavery provisions in supplier and subcontractor contracts

  • Conduct supplier assessments during onboarding, particularly for high-risk categories (e.g. contingent labour)

  • Verify that UK-based staff and contractors have the right to work legally

  • Monitor subcontractor relationships regularly through project governance and supplier reviews

Where possible, we work with trusted and repeat suppliers who demonstrate strong ethical credentials.

4. Risk assessment and management

Given our size, sector and operating model, we assess our overall risk of modern slavery as low. However, we remain vigilant in the following areas:

  • Recruitment of contractors or agency staff

  • Third-party consultants or delivery partners

  • IT and cloud services vendors

We monitor these risks through regular review of supplier practices, open dialogue with partners, and escalation protocols where concerns arise.

5. Performance indicators to measure effectiveness

To ensure our approach remains effective, we track the following indicators:

  • 100% of supplier contracts to include modern slavery clauses

  • 100% of internal hires to be subject to right-to-work checks

  • Review of all key suppliers annually for compliance risks

  • No reported incidents of concern via internal or supplier whistleblowing channels

6. Training

We provide awareness training to all staff on:

  • What modern slavery is

  • How to identify red flags

  • How to report concerns

All managers and those involved in supplier procurement receive enhanced training on due diligence and risk identification.

7. Responsibility & Review

Overall responsibility for this policy rests with the DDATS Ltd leadership team. Managers are responsible for ensuring that team members and contractors understand and comply with our modern slavery obligations.

This statement is reviewed annually and updated as appropriate.
